  • Responsibilities

    • Perform root cause analysis of quality issues, often using advanced problem solving tools (like Kepner Tregoe, Shainin Red X, Design of Experiments). Recommend and implement simple cost-effective permanent corrective actions. Analyze quality data from internal and external indicators to ensure correlation. Manage engineering changes, working with cross-functional team to ensure timely execution.
    • Conduct product evaluation requests to ensure robustness of product or process change before full implementation.
    • Work with Engineering and Suppliers to resolve issues that are not plant controllable.
    • Recommend and validate rework procedures.
    • Develop inspection procedures and best methods for performing inspection.
    • Develop projects to support World Class Manufacturing.
    • Quality Field Service Action Engineer is responsible for the implementation of all field service actions from creation to release to the field.
    • Issues are identified through Global Management System and/or Assembly Plant Yard Holds.
    • Specific Duties are to Evaluate vehicles beyond plant control and create documentation to address repair procedures in the field.
    • Work with technical specialist to create one page documents to communicate root cause and corrective action.
    • Document dirty and clean points, root cause and prevention with weekly updates to management.
    • Specific area of responsibility will be Electrical components.


    • Bachelor degree in Engineering / BSEE preferred
    • 3+ years in releasing and development of Automotive Electrical components, resolving build issues, quality and warranty
    • Must be a creative problem solver, proactive and steadfast in the identification and resolution of vehicle quality issues.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects in fast paced, high volume environment while remaining flexible.




    • May be required to drive a company vehicle -- valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
    • Will be required to travel to Metro Detroit Plants/Suppliers (20%)
