  • Responsibilities

    • Perform root cause analysis of quality issues, often using advanced problem solving tools (like Kepner Tregoe, Shainin Red X, Design of Experiments)
    • Recommend and implement simple cost-effective permanent corrective actions
    • Analyze quality data from internal and external indicators to ensure correlation Manage engineering changes, working with cross-functional team to ensure timely execution
    • Conduct product evaluation requests to ensure robustness of product or process change before full implementation
    • Work with Engineering and Suppliers to resolve issues that are not plant controllable Recommend and validate rework procedures
    • Develop inspection procedures and best methods for performing inspection
    • Develop projects to support World Class Manufacturing
    • Triage Transmission OBD/Drivability issues reported by customers
    • Work with cross functional team in problem resolution for warranty issues and assist in containment processIdentify issues related to check engine light, diagnostics and powertrain control modules and sensors
    • Customer follow up Surveys/interviews and data acquisition
    • Employee Lease and Fast Feed back Surveys/interviews and data acquisition
    • Quality Engineering Center Support ( Data acquisition on vehicles with customer concerns)
    • Control-tec instrumented vehicle quality data review and meeting support
    • Star Center and Field support related to Transmission OBD/Drivability issues
    • Release Timing documentation support.
    • Monthly Ride and Drive vehicle support with instrumentation and data acquisition.
    • AVL analysis/validation meeting
    • Support Learn and develop transmission calibration and controls skills.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering(Mechanical or Electrical).
    • Practical experience in Engineering, Engineering Quality or Manufacturing Quality within an automotive organization.
    • Prior application and use of problem solving tools and statistics.
    • Knowledge of GD&T and SPC.
    • MS Excel proficiency, including presentation skills.
    • Must be self-motivated, results driven, able to work with minimal supervision. Excellent critical thinking and leadership skills.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to travel.

     

     

    Preferred Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
    • Experience powertrain systems and/or powertrain electrical experienceEngine and/or On Board Diagnostics (OBD) Calibration experience
    • Certification in problem solving tools (i.e. Kepner Tregoe, Six Sigma, or Shainin)

     

    Travel 

     

    • Will be required to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%
    • Will be required to drive a company car. Valid driver’s license is required as well as a clean driving record.
