  • Responsibilities

     

    • Primary responsibility will be to administer daily operations of the ESXi, VMware vRealize suite (vRA, vRO, vRB-future).
    • Candidate will work closely with the NexGen Datacenter Engineering, Cloud Automation team in a DevOps role.
    • The vRealize Cloud Management Platform will deliver the Cloud Provisioned (on premise) environment.
    • Secondary responsibility will be to support the automation blueprints and orchestration workflows and all required REST endpoint integrations.
    • These integrations include core infrastructure and services, and ITIL endpoints, required to provision IaaS and PaaS services,
    • for example, Windows VM, Linux VM, MS SQL Server, etc. Integrations include: Active Directory, vCenter, Network (Cisco ACI), DNS (Nokia QIP), Storage (NetApp), Backup / Protection (Catalogic), Configuration Management (Chef), F5 (iWorkflow), CMDB and Change (BMC Remedy), and others.
    • This position will work closely with existing ESX Operations team.

     

     

     

    Qualifications

     

     

    • 5+ years of strong ESX OS experience at a Senior Systems Admin level
    • 5+ years of experience with Linux/Windows, VMware vSphere suite (vCenter) and virtualization technologies
    • 5+ years scripting and GUI experience with multiple languages:
    • Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, Python, TCL, Javascript, Perl, PHP, and markup languages and data interchange specifications:
    • HTML5, JSON, XML, and Web services to manipulate Web resources with focus on REST API
    • Must be able to demonstrate an Automation mindset and provide working examples where you have been a primary designer, contributor, developer; strong experience with PowerShell and Rest API Coding for automation development within HP Oneview.
    • 3+ years working in a DevOps role between Infrastructure teams and-or Application development teams Hands-on experience with DevOps Toolsets: Github, JIRA, Slack, Confluence, etc
    • 3+ years of experience with Cloud Services as a developer or consumer (Azure, AWS, etc) Strong understanding of Active Directory and DNS technology and operations
    • 3+ years of Operations experience at a large enterprise including ITIL processes

     

    Preferred Qualifications 

     

    • Experience with HP Synergy and C7000 blade chassis or cisco UCS. VMware vRealize suite, vRA blueprints and catalog, vRO workflows and REST integrations
    • Experience with VMware operational software, vROPS and Log Insight VMware Certification
    • ITIL Certification
    • Ability to work on a DevOps collaborative team
    • Open thinking and sharing is a requirement
    • Flexible to embrace new technologies and approaches, willingness to learn and iterate to full solutions
    • This is a hands-on operations and administration position with a focus on cloud management and automation using a DevOps model. Supervision is not a direct responsibility.

    • Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or related
