  • Responsibilities

    • Field Service and Parts Technical Advisor to act a liaison between Corporate Eng and dealerships in a specific region.to provide technical assistance and fixed operations consultation to Dealer Service Personnel, Fleet and Commercial Customers. The Technical Advisor will motivate and lead Dealer Service personnel to a higher level of service and parts performance consistent with corporate and industry direction. They will assist with resolutions on current unresolved issues in support of dealer's efforts to maximize their competitiveness in the marketplace while creating customer retention and loyalty.  This is a remote position.
    • Key job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    • Provide technical assistance in-dealership and over the phone
    • Inspect and determine the root cause of vehicle failures
    • Oversee and participate in final repair attempts
    • Act as a subject matter expert (litigation/buy-back)
    • Provide feedback on quality issues to engineering and technical service operations
    • Update corporate data bases 
    • Consult with dealerships on repair process improvement
    • Review dealership tools and equipment needs to improve repair quality
    • Support corporate efforts for recall and rapid response transmittal completion

    California - Bay Area

    California - Bakersfield

    California - Los Angeles

     

    Qualifications

    Basic Requirements
    • Bachelor preferred / Associates or Technical certification required
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive technical service (automotive car repair, certified automotive technician and/or body work)
    • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to achieve goals under minimal supervision
    • Ability to interact with customers as well as corporate management at all levels
    • Excel in building positive working relationships and cost assessment
    • MS Office skills / data base management
    • FCA retirees will be considered

    Preferred Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or Automotive
    • Dealer experience
    • ASE (automotive service excellence) certification (expired will be considered DOE)
    • Legal experience (depositions, expert testimony, work with attorney's etc.)

    Driving and Travel Requirements

    • This position is remote
    • Will be required to drive company vehicles – valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
    • Will be required to travel domestically – up to 80% locally / on the road, 50% overnight travel 
    • Candidate will use his/her vehicle for local travel
    • Provisions: Computer equipment, internet, Wi-Fi, cell phones provided
    • Corporate (Detroit) and local dealership training provided
