  • Responsibilities

    • Support special project sourcing strategies that are a part of new high-dollar, critical components with long-term, preferred suppliers.
    • Provides cost and quality wise favorable quotations for required materials out of the NAFTA market.
    • Participate, as needed, in supplier selection within NAFTA; however, the Commodity Buyer is the lead.
    • Perform cost and value analysis in cooperation with other departments, centers and product teams.
    • Investigation of potentials for substitution of material and alternate manufacturing processes.
    • Provides support to production in regards to change management coordination of technical changes of purchased parts and implementation of economical improvements.
    • Initiates and records cost avoidances during launch timeframe.
    • Supports all members of the customer team for purchasing activities.
    • Responsible for the issuance of RFQ's prior to SOP as well as engineering changes during this time period. Also, initiates RFQ's and engineering changes during current production.
    • Consolidation of proposals and Target-Price-Setting in coordination with the other departments.
    • SAP Knowledge
    • General knowledge of Injection Molding or Stamping Parts
    • 1 to 2 years of Purchasing Experience


    Bachelor's degree in Business or Mechanical Engineering from four-year college or university.
