  • Responsibilities

     

    • Research Engineer is responsible for identifying, developing, and integrating key technologies for Smart Mobility products and services.
    • This role brings a unique business-minded perspective to the team that creates value by nurturing efficient working relationships and a positive approach to problem-solving.
    • Work directly with mobility to establish detailed business cases that drive the Mobility Research departments technology development portfolio
    • Work directly with industry partners, government, cities to build partnerships for collaborative innovation
    • Use Design-Thinking methodologies to synchronize communication of customer needs between the business and research (R&A) groups
    • Support the cultivation of strategic partnerships with universities, city officials, and other external organizations to co-develop technology solutions for FSM
    • Lead project management duties including milestone tracking, compiling of presentation materials, preparation for executive reviews and demos, and annual IDTE (tech expo) planning

     

    Qualifications

    •  3+ years of experience managing complex technical projects on time and on budget
    • Proven experience in conducting market research and developing business cases for technology investment
    • Proven experience in technology strategy development
    • Ability to conceptualize how emerging technologies (Connectivity, IoT, Big Data, etc.) apply to Smart Mobility use-cases
    • Proven experience in systems and processes for effective and efficient management of emerging technology projects
    • Prior experience with mobility solutions and technologies
    • Self-starter approach to new ideas and opportunities
    • Have a can do, find a way attitude
    • Experience with (or knowledge of) smart city initiatives (preferred)


    Education Required:

    Bachelors in business administration, engineering management, transportation/urban planning, computer science, or similar

     

    Masters degree in business administration, engineering management, transportation/urban planning, computer science, or similar (preferred)
