  • Responsibilities

    • The data landing support team is responsible for monitoring and supporting data ingestion for vehicle data.
    • The process ingests data from numerous internal and external data sources, and replicates this data into the Hadoop environment.
    • Regular tasks include supporting IT processes including Application Monitoring, Incident Management, Problem Management, Request Management, and Security Management for the critical data load processes supporting the Global Data Insights and Analytics (GDIA) skill team.
    • Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
      • Resolve incidents, manage changes, and monitor change implementation in the production environment
      • Proactively monitor performance and research root cause of performance deviations
      • Manage strict security and control requirements for sensitive/confidential data across the portfolio, which includes support of ACR, SCRP, and MCRP input to business as necessary
      • Collaborate closely with Operations Support staff and Development teams to work through the technical aspects of application support activities




    Experience Required:

    • Relevant experience in Production Support and System Analysis activities
    • Experience in working with applications on distributed platforms
    • Experience with Linux, scripting, Java
    • Experience in performing troubleshooting procedures and designing resolution scripts
    • Experience in data ingestion technologies with reference to relational databases (i.e. DB2, Oracle, SQL) and FTP File processing
    • Motivated and self-starter
    • Able to interact with IT and business customers to clarify or define business needs/issues
    • Proactively identifies process improvements that reduce support cost and effort
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Experience Preferred:

    • Familiar with multiple DB technologies such as DB2, Oracle and SQL
    • Understanding of the Hadoop environment including: HDFS, Yarn, Hive, HBase, Ambari, Oozie, Zookeeper, Ranger
    • Should be able to handle customer escalations and provide temporary and permanent solution.
    • Should be able to develop metrics and status/analysis reports.
    • Wider Experience in incident management and escalation procedures.
    • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously.
    • Proven ability to learn quickly and understand a wide variety of business and technical subjects. 



    Education Required:

    • Bachelors degree or equivalent IT experience
