  • Responsibilities

    Engineering Job Description & Responsibilities:

    • Support component cost throughout program life for assigned commodities (setting piece cost and investment targets, negotiation support for new business placement and design changes).
    • Utilize BOM, drawings and/or samples to develop technical cost and investment/tooling models for Engine components and systems using activity based costing methodologies.
    • Provide subject matter expertise to support engineering and purchasing at working levels and to executive leadership.
    • Approve tooling in OEM System
    • Provide Asset Verification of tooling after tooling has been built.
    • Partner with the Tooling/Process cost Engineer.


    Required Engineering Experience & Skills

    • 10+ years of engineering experience with Engine Cooling, Fuel Systems, Air Induction System, & Exhaust Systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze supplier quotes & reach agreement on appropriate piece cost and tooling cost using activity based costing.
    • Understanding of elements of piece cost and investment for various manufacturing processing typical for the production of assigned commodities
    • Strong communication and MS office skills

     Preferred Engineering Experience & Skills 

    • Tool Room experience
    • Team Center proficiency

     Engineering Education Preferred

    • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Business
