Responsibilities

  • Establish technical cost for Interior components (Cockpit/Trim or Seating) throughout program life
  • Establish piece cost and tooling investment targets,
  • Negotiate support for new business placement and cost analysis for design changes
  • Work from BOM, drawings and/or samples to develop technical cost for Interior components and systems using activity based costing methodologies.
  • Provide subject matter expertise (cost & process) to support engineering and purchasing at working levels and to executive leadership.
  • Analyze supplier quotes and identify gaps should cost models be developed    

Qualifications

Required Engineering Experience & Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in design / development / release OR procurement of Interior components (Cockpit/Trim or Seating)
  • 1 year or more of experience with Activity Based Costing
  • Demonstrated understanding of elements of piece cost & investment for manufacturing processing typical for the production of Interior components.
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal, organization and communication (written & verbal) skills

Engineering Education Required

  • Bachelor degree

 Engineering Education Preferred

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or Business
