  • Responsibilities

    Engineering Job Description & Responsibilities:

    • Join a team that is developing the next generation advanced transmissions controls to meet the demands of the new products and customers.
    • Our team is looking for a strong Line Pressure Strategy and Control Algorithm Designer to create next generation controls for current and future transmission products.
    • Focus on both core and advanced transmission algorithm development to be designed in an agile
    • Design and develop transmission control algorithms and validate these changes for production implementation
    • Create requirements for implementing these algorithms into transmission software
    • Perform verification and validation of these algorithms using SIL/HIL and in vehicle.
    • Establish and execute design verification plans for control logic development
    • Conduct design failure mode effects analysis for control logic changes
    • Support transmission hardware improvements, cost reduction efforts through control logic development and other quality initiatives
    • Contribute to transmission calibration guide and base calibration development
    • Support calibration verification and release transmission calibrations for production

    Qualifications

    Required Engineering Education

    • 3+ years of experience in engineering, software calibration, and/or controls
    • 1 year or more of experience with standard development tools, modeling/simulation/development/testing/validation
    • 1 year or more experience with basic PT functions (transmission, engines, driveline)
    • Good overall knowledge of transmission control systems related to drive strategy, shift scheduling, shift-by-wire, signal filtering, oil budgeting, and shift lever analysis
    • Understanding of transmission mechanical designs and oil budget concepts,
    • micro-controller hardware and embedded software
    • Ability & Willingness to work with multiple disciplines: mechanical, electrical and controls
    • Strong computer (MS office), interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills

     

    Engineering Education Required

    • Bachelor of Science in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering

     

    Preferred Engineering Education

    • 5+ years of experience in powertrain development
    • Deep understanding of powertrain functions and Controls Algorithms focused on conventional combustion engines interfaces with transmissions
    • Demonstrated expertise in any of the following areas:
    • Line Pressure control, Transmission Oil Budget Analysis, Transmission Oil Usage modelling, Shift Scheduling, Shift-By-Wire, Signal Filtering/Conditioning, Shift Lever analysis and implementation
    • Knowledge of "C" programming language utilized in embedded code as well as MATLAB/SimuLink, Amesim, Borland/MSDN, Lauterbach,
    • Experience with automotive development/calibration tools (ETAS, INCA, CDA, Vector, DOORS)

     

    Engineering Education Preferred

    • Master degree in Engineering
