Responsibilities

  • We are looking for an engineer with strong technical and product development life-cycle experience to join us on this exciting adventure.
  • Transitioning its 9-Speed Transmission Controls into Physics Model Based Development (PMBD).
  • Excellent opportunity for sharing successful product development experience to a new team of engineers.

Project Chief key responsibilities:

  • Lead a cross functional team and/or supplier dedicated to the design, development, and verification of PMBD.
  • Responsible for managing all deliverables and milestones necessary for successful implementation and releases essential for our vehicle teams.
  • Interactions in this position cuts across many organizations within the Company.
  • Expected to model positive leadership behaviors and mentor teammates to help the organization grow in capability and throughput.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the projects including timing, costs, quality, release planning and change management.
  • Manage projects involving 12-40 colleagues at any given time.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, as accredited by ABET or ABET
  • 10+ years' experience in electro-mechanical systems and/or software/hardware development
  • Life-cycle experience in Electronics, Controls, Software or Electro-Mechanical Systems
  • Detailed and Process-oriented and capable of managing change
  • Strong Project Management skills to lead the projects and mentor peers
  • Strong knowledge of all the functional areas that are supporting the team in development of transmission management systems.
  • Ability to evaluate project level situations, make hard decisions for the good of the program and meet program objectives.
  • Exhibit strong team presence by engaging in the project and developing alternatives when road blocks occur to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Exhibit strong communication and organizational skills
  • Team player, supporting and promoting team accomplishments versus personal achievement, with a proven ability to drive change and bring projects to fruition through influence and collaboration across the organization in a highly fluid environment.
  • Must have management experience – Interface
  • Technical background

Preferred:

  • Master of Science degree in Engineering, as accredited by ABET or ABET
  • Bachelors in Electrical, Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, Mechanical (Controls)
  • Understanding of Powertrain controls, software/hardware development

Travel Requirements

  • May be required to drive a company car. Valid driver’s license is required as well as a clean driving record.
  • May be required to travel domestically (0-20%)
