Responsibilities

  • AVI Electrical Development Technician provides electrical build and programming support for vehicle properties that are typically in the early phases of the advanced development process.
  • The type of work includes but not limited to: build, integration and servicing of newly designed Autonomous and Hydrogen vehicle systems.
  • Modification of production and prototype body, powertrain and chassis control systems.
  • Design build and integration of special control circuit’s modules and controllers for advanced vehicle innovation projects.
  • New sub-system installations, for new technologies.
  • Troubleshooting electrical issues for Engineering Development Vehicles.
  • Perform the most complex and specialized mechanical and/or electrical tests on product components or series of components
  • Design and develop specialized measurements, special purpose instrumentation and/or shop or laboratory test equipment
  • Analyzes data and makes recommendations on unusual and difficult technical problems
  • Keeps records on work performed, analyzes data collected, and reports results
  • Recommends revisions to product or component design
  • Maintains good housekeeping, safety practices and supplies
  • Coordinates and exchanges findings with engineering personnel outside work group on a frequent basis
  • Presentation of test results and recommendations to customers

Qualifications

  • Knowledge in MS Office (Word) – Advanced level 
  • Knowledge with Lotus Notes or other email communication tool – Advanced level 
  • Strong interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally and cross-culturally 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills necessary for meetings and presentations 
  • Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills 
  • Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently 
  • Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback 
  • Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas 
  • Advanced ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using root cause analysis where problems are more complex 
  • Strong knowledge of complex mechanical and/or electrical concepts - 10+ years experience 
  • Strong engineering math knowledge - 10+ years experience 
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings - 10+ years experience 
  • Position related experience - 10+ years experience

 

Required Education/Training:

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical field or Automotive Technology or equivalent training
