  • Analyze PCM I/O required for all programs contained in MSP (Powertrain Control Module Specification Package) & determine any gaps in currently HIL capability.
  • Determine if an existing load tray design can be used or a new design is required to handle the complexity contained in the new MSP.
  • Design a scale drawing in Microsoft Visio of all hardware components required to simulate the actuators required for all programs within a MSP (i.e. max complexity).
  • Create a bill of material (BOM) list of all required components and lead the build of the HIL load tray working with internal and external resources
  • Design wiring harness that mates to the load tray
  • Document load tray and wiring harness details in Microsoft Excel
  • Update Arduino control code as required
  • Work closely with other engineers in the module hardware design team and software validation team through design, implementation, and troubleshooting phases
  • Co-lead resolution of HIL hardware issues related to rig load tray, wiring harness, and related components.
  • Assist team with vehicle software validation as needed

  • Excellent problem solving techniques
  • Highly motivated/ self-starter
  • 3 years' experience with electronic circuit design
  • 2 years' experience in testing and debugging automotive embedded systems software.
  • 2 years' experience using oscilloscopes, function generators, and other equipment for circuit analysis and debugging
  • 1 year experience designing electronic component mounting schemes and project packaging including specifying dimensions and tolerances required.
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

Skills Preferred:

  • Ability to utilize schematic capture tools and printed circuit board layout tools.
  • Experience developing hardware interfaces for microcontroller (e.g. Arduino) and programming the microcontroller with C or Python
  • Experience with dSPACE hardware
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications especially Excel and Visio
