Product Design Engineer -Infotainment (Uconnect) Functional Software Integrator and Design/Release Headunits


  • Responsible for leading the software/ hardware execution and development of infotainment head units and systems.
  • Perform software and/or hardware DVP&R and FMEA. Find issues; root cause; and solve.
  • Develop timelines and drive programs to meet.
  • Manage Tier I suppliers and software releases and/or hardware designs.
  • Interface with stakeholders at all levels including vehicle teams, HMI, validation, requirement leads, technical specialists, leadership, and develop robust functional designs.
  • Present action plans with status/risks to get and keep programs on track.
  • Maintain changes and budget to achieve deliverables for sound product launches.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and make well-analyzed decisions defining the direction to drive quality.


Travel and Driving Requirement:
May be required to drive a company car.  Valid driver’s license is required as well as a clean driving


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited University
  • Systems Engineering Experience
  • Project Management Experience
  • Experience with Mechanical and/or Electrical Integration
  • Knowledgeable of Requirements Documentation and Definition
  • Ability to work with and lead cross-functional teams
  • Strategic out-of-the-box thinker
  • FMEA, DVPR knowledge 
  • Experience with CAN (Canoe) bus
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience developing and releasing automotive Electrical Electronics (EE) modules and specifications


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters of Science in Engineering, Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited University
  • Web design or web execution knowledge
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and best practices thereof
  • Able to act decisively within a team A passion for technology
  • Well-rounded outward attitude
  • Knowledge of Quality Methods and tools (Green Belt – DFSS/Reactive, 3L5Y)
  • Proficient knowledge of radio head unit software and hardware architectures and corresponding vehicle system architecture
  • Ability to lead colleagues from engineering, planning, and suppliers to achieve goals
  • Demonstrated potential to direct, teach, lead and inspire
  • Highly effective at communicating technical issues both verbally and written
  • Understanding of Bluetooth protocols, USB, WiFi, Mirrorlink
