  • Responsible for designing and developing a product/product family.
  • Ensures production procedures efficiently utilize materials and personnel.
  • Tests finished product for quality purposes and recommends changes to product specifications as necessary.
  • Rear axle design/release engineer - Responsible for designing and developing a product/product family.
  • Design axle assembly and components to achieve required durability, functional targets, within the program timeline.
  • Create plan and associated documents: BD, FM. DFMEA, DVP&R.
  • Execute the plan.
  • Manage cost, timing, weight, etc.
  • Initiate and Support the Problem Solving activity and continuous improvement actions to improve warranty, cost, and durability.
  • Coordinate and interface Component Design, Manufacture and Assembly with Manufacturing Plants, Suppliers and other Departments within Company.
  • Work with CAE to perform Virtual analysis (Stress, Fatigue, NVH, and CFD etc.) to validate Design/design changes analytically.
  • Tests finished product for quality purposes and recommends changes to product specifications as necessary.
  • Verify and Test the Effectiveness of Quality Assurance systems at Supplier (APQP, PPAP, and PSO).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent is required 
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Background in axle design, function, and development
  • Position also requires an ability to manipulate data from data acquisitions collected in support of Axle Engineering. Data would be from PT data acquisitions data acquisitions. Must be able to access data from internal database.
  • Must be able to transfer (both media and formatting) data from OEM to Axle assembly suppliers ensuring integrity of data.
  • Must be able to interrogate data qualitatively and quantitatively for Axle Engineering purposes
  • Quickly view time history track.
  • Quickly overlay time history traces for comparison purposes
  • Quickly analyze data from similar acquisitions to compare relative damage
  • Will be required to drive a company car.  Valid driver’s license is required as well as a clean driving record
  • May be required to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%

  • BSME required
  • Entry level candidates will be considered and the manager is open to considering candidates without previous axle/driveline experience. However, these candidates should have some type of automotive experience be it an automotive internship or hands on experience restoring vehicles.
  • Position will be responsible for coordinating parts from the supplier and working on component testing.
  • Previous NVH experience for Powertrain is helpful
  • Candidates with component testing experience for engine, driveline or transfer cases may be a fit
  • Candidates should be self-sufficient, motivated and have the ability to come up with new ideas
  • Candidate is available to start ASAP after offer. L
