Responsibilities

Job Description& Responsibilities

  • Support the Purchasing Organization to review costs provided by suppliers for adding incremental capacity to support increasing volume requirements.
  • Partner with buyers and suppliers to analyze & negotiate submitted costs for additional capacity relative to part, tooling and capital
  • Visit supplier to observe manufacturing process and to validate/verify request
  • Identify opportunities for reducing or eliminating cost or timing associated with increasing manufacturing capacity
  • Provide cost leadership for sourcing and change management activities

Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing 
  • 5+ years of experience with cost estimating
  • Strong MS office (Excel, Word, Outlook & PowerPoint), problem-solving and interpersonal skills

 

Education Required

  • Bachelor Degree

 

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Experience in cost or manufacturing for the following programs: Body/Exterior and/or Raw Material commodities

 

Education Preferred

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or Business
