Responsibilities

Conflict Minerals lead for Supplier Relations. Role is to manage and ensure compliance with Dodd-Frank Act Section 1502, and the Conflict Minerals rule promulgated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”), and eventually European Union.

 

  • Lead the conflict minerals steering committee which includes several affiliated and subsidiary companies.
  • Send inquiries to the suppliers regarding their use of conflict minerals, and then perform due diligence on the responses.
  • Drafting the Form Special Disclosure and Conflict Minerals Report to be submitted to the SEC.
  • Attend twice monthly meetings with the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) regarding conflict minerals (and sub-groups).
  • Coordinating with legal, sustainability, communications, and purchasing as needed regarding the rule.
  • Develop and maintain auditable procedures for compliance.
  • Presenting training courses as needed especially during supplier training week.
  • Develop annual goals and report out the status of the goals.
  • Answer affiliate and subsidiary questions regarding compliance with the conflict minerals rule.

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area and five plus years of experience in the field or in a related area. Open to recent grads with the experience.
  • Familiar with Sustainability and Conflict Minerals legislation (Dodd Frank Act) Familiarity with metallurgy or chemistry a plus.
  • The automotive parts contain tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold.
  • A basic level of familiarity with these minerals and how they are used would be very helpful.
  • Understanding of the Conflict Minerals Rule.
  • Ability to deal with a world-wide supply base, including continual communications with affiliated companies in Europe, South America, and Asia.
  • Knowledge of sustainability and environmental systems, including IMDS.
  • Experience in creating agendas, minutes, correspondence, documentation, and presentations
  • Experience in defining project scope, requirements, and deliverables Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Auto experience with supplier relations is a plus.
  • May be required to drive a company car. Valid driver’s license is required as well as a clean driving record.
  • May be required to travel domestic 10%
