Responsibilities

  • Admin support for Design Engineering staff to achieve quality and OTD of Design deliverables.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Design Department Engineering document control and data infrastructure.
  • Admin support for Departmental Management in providing strategic and management materials.
  • Communication: Ensuring customers for Design deliverables are informed of status and delivery date in a timely manner. 

  • Initiative: Anticipating project needs and executing in advance to ensure Design Engineering function operates at maximum efficiency.

  • Projects: Engineering Data Storage Infrastructure development

  • Parts List: Management and communication of Parts List changes. 

  • Technical Instruction Sheets (TIS): Generation and communication of TIS (associated with Parts List changes)

  • Admin Support as required:

    • Support Design Engineering in schedule maintenance, drawing package generation, generation of Design Review materials
    • Support TEMA Purchasing with Parts List and Drawing Change information
    • Support TEMA Plants with Parts List, TIS and Drawing Change information
    • Support Dept Management in generation of strategic plans, budget plans, labor plans (incl. data analysis, graphing, presentation)
  • Engineering Document Control

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement for this position is a High School Degree
  • Preferred 2-Year Engineering or 4-year Technology degree or similar discipline
  • Demonstrable experience with basic office processes in a product development or manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years experience and detailed knowledge of typical:
    • Engineering Change Management process,
    • Parts List and BOM administration
    • Assembly Manual/Technical Instruction Sheet preparation and administration
  • Demonstrable proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD.
  • 2 years experience and demonstrable proficiency with resource planning and budget preparation (preferably Excel based)
  • Written Communications Skills : Ability to read and write basic English. Also, the ability to read and write simple logistical plans, technical reports and financial analyses. 
  • Business System Skills: Good understanding of fundamental processes, systems and practices of modern business.
  • Problem Solving: incl. problem definition and statement; data collection; establishment of facts; decisiveness and logical conclusion. Also, the ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form.
  • Engineering Skills: Good understanding of basic engineering processes and systems (for design, development, testing, manufacturing etc).   
  • Interpersonal Skills: incl. strong listening skills; open mindedness; team-working and  language skills necessary to facilitate effective cooperation between Associates and departments.
  • Basic written Communications Skills: the ability to read and write basic English.
  • Knowledge of Japanese language and culture would be an advantage.
