Responsibilities

To ensure that established controls engineering principles and practices, the Quality Assurance Policies of Company, and the Controls Specifications of the customer are applied to the study, development and design of Controls Processes and Systems.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide the Proposal/Estimating Department with technical information, concept drawings as they relate to controls
  • Analyze proposal product, equipment, customer specifications and process requirements to conceive and produce a practical controls design within the limitations defined by cost, time and the availability of equipment or components
  • Provide the purchasing department with technical information relating to control components as required
  • In conjunction with operational personnel, compile operational data and assist in the establishment of controls standards for new designs or modifications to the controls of existing equipment or process when required
  • Prepare controls related to installation, operation and maintenance sections of service manuals as requested
  • Provide technical assistance and expertise as directed by management or the customer
  • De-bug the controls functions, after assembly to ensure programs meet engineering criteria
  • To write and program controller data for operation of equipment as specified in Customer Specification, insuring proper interface between mechanical operation, other related equipment and robots
  • Installation Supervision or Service of equipment on Customer floor after deliver, insuring equipment functions to design criteria.

Qualifications

  • University degree in electrical engineering or college diploma in electrical or controls technology
  • Five to eight (5-8) years experience in controls engineering (Hydraulics, electrical, lubrication and pneumatics design)
  • Design experience should include familiarity with hydraulic pressures, industrial washers, automation, engine assembly, weld lines and robots
  • Design experience must include knowledge of PLC’s (Allen Bradley, Modicon plus others), Taylor Software and Autocad
  • Experience in Controls Estimating and Controls Build
  • Very good communication skills
  • The ability to work with others in a team atmosphere.
