The primary function of a Program Manager is to lead cross functional resources towards cost, quality, customer satisfaction and timing objectives with respect to design and construction of turnkey automated assembly systems or tooling for the Body In White, Powertrain or Aerospace divisions of Company.



  • Schedule and facilitate weekly open issue reviews with the Customer.
  • Lead weekly program reviews with cross functional resources, using Risk and Opportunities matrix to the extent that mitigation is employed or opportunities are realized.
  • Lead weekly manufacturing reviews with cross functional resources to the extent that open issues are closed in an effective manner.
  • Lead monthly work in process reviews with cross functional leadership.
  • Maintain an updated open issues deck and engineering change log.
  • Maintain an updated program timing plan and program review gate sheets and PID database.
  • Communicate open issue priorities, facilitate closure of open issues.
  • Utilize SMS software to discern weekly assessments of engineering releases and materials purchased.
  • Utilize SAP software to discern program costing forecast to complete and define cost trending.
  • Accurately forecast program costs to complete with input from cross functional team members.
  • Communicate departmental execution with respect to budget and timing goals.
  • Maintain updated engineering change logs, facilitate supply of engineering change quotes to Customers.
  • Employ effective situational management techniques to maintain objectivity and team focus on program related goals.
  • Employ effective negotiation skills so as to protect Company’s commercial interests and/or enable satisfaction of Customer related requirements.
  • Enable collection of program related revenue as per payment terms in an effective manner.
  • Employ leadership skills within each phase of the program as required to enable satisfaction of the program technical and cost related goals.
  • Employ and promote objectivity within each phase of the program as required to discern satisfaction of Company’s cost and timing objectives.
  • Adhere to Company’s Program Delivery Process (PDP).
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned by Company’s Leadership.
  • Employ positive behaviors and a positive attitude throughout each phase of the program.


  • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree or equivalent from an accredited University.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience as a Program Manager.
  • A willingness to acquire PMP (Professional Program Management) Certification within two years from the date of hire.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to facilitate a focused team environment.
  • The ability to travel periodically within North America, Mexico or Internationally.
