In this position, you will ensure the products of client comply with customer functional safety requirements.


In this position you will:

  • Creation and tracking of Safety Project Plans for development programs, and the timely escalation of safety-related issues within the safety management, project team and development organization.
  • Creation and tracking of Safety Verification Plans for development programs, and checking of the validation results.
  • Define safety concepts for new products.
  • Assist in the creation and review of functional safety analysis including FTA, FMEDA, CCA, Interface Analysis, SW FMEA, etc.
  • Setup and management of a reliability database for electronic parts for the calculation of hardware metrics (SPFM, LFM, PMHF). 
  • Communication with customer for all functional safety topics including planning, reporting, and issue resolution, for assigned programs.
  • Support for specification setup (in cooperation with Polarion systems admin) including semiconductor (e.g. NXP/Infineon monolithic solutions) and product (sales support to Asian companies) specification setup.
  • Review of safety case documentation for series production.
  • Assist in documentation and maintenance of functional safety procedures and workflow.
  • Meet the requirements of the Client Internal Concept to Customer (C to C) System.
  • Maintain compliance to current ISO standards and customer specific requirement and Client product development processes as applicable. Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistent with High- Performance teams, continuous improvement goals, and values of Client.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
  • 5-8 years related experience.
  • Experience in functional safety for embedded applications.
  • Experience with functional safety methods according to ISO26262 is preferred.
  • High level of problem-solving experience.
  • Knowledge of established Safety Concepts and analysis methods.
  • Ability to perform advanced engineering mathematics.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Intermediate MS Office suite.
  • Ability to work in teams and independently.
  • Familiarity with Polarion desired
